Broadway.com shares the fun news that Eddie and his Les Mis castmates will be performing a medley of the shows songs at the Oscars.
TV audiences will “hear the people sing” live at the Oscars on February 24! The cast of Les Misérables is scheduled to perform at the 2013 Academy Awards ceremony, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail. No word on which song the stars of the film adaptation will sing, but it’s likely to be an ensemble number like “Do You Hear the People Sing” or “One Day More,” the news outlet reports. Tony winner Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Samantha Barks, Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried and more will reportedly perform.
The 85th annual Academy Awards ceremony will be choreographed by Emmy- and Tony-winning choreographer and director Rob Ashford. Les Misérables received eight Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role (Jackman), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Hathaway) and Best Original Song.
This isn’t the first time Hathaway has performed Les Miz at the Oscars—click below to watch her singing a parody of “On My Own” (coincidentally at her future co-star Jackman!) when she co-hosted the awards in 2011.
