| MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE ASSOCIATION mndassociation.org Eddie became involved with the Motor Neurone Disease Association after researching the illness for his role as Stephen Hawking in the film The Theory of Everything. Eddie's work in raising awareness of this brutal disease is "one very close to my heart". He has lent his voice to help raise awareness of the illness and was apart of their "My Eyes Say" campaign in 2017. MNDA is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND. |

At the end of 2011 Eddie appeared as Richard II in the Donmar Warehouse production of Richard II in London. His performance was acclaimed by audiences & critics.
His masterstroke turns out to be casting the 29-year-old Eddie Redmayne in the title role. Upon his youthful shoulders, the mantle of power weighs heavily from the beautifully realised opening scene, as he sits upon his throne, an elfin figure in a long white robe in a cloistered hall full of smells and bells. – The Telegraph
